Ropes course Safety
Ropes course builders have strict rules which makes ropes courses safe in general. However, accidents and injuries are inevitable. This is why ropes course builders always have facilitators on the site and advise that people should be very careful when climbing a rope challenge course, especially if it’s for the first time. Some of the common injuries include falling off the ropes course. Below are five essential tips on how to be safe on a climbing course.
Ropes course team building is quite common since the ropes course team building activity develops teamwork and stamina. In a ropes course, the first rule is to only go one at a time and avoid going in groups. At the most, the facilitator will be allowed to go on the ropes course with the participants but make sure that the maximum weight of the rope challenge course is not exceeded.
Secondly, participants should be very comfortable and avoid using accessories that might fall. Long hair should be pulled to a pony tail and a sports headband would come in handy too. Shades and eyeglasses should be removed as well to become more focused on the activity.
The third tip is to not bring sharp and heavy objects so as not to injure other people in the rope challenge course. Ropes course builders and facilitators are strict about this. Similar to this rule is if the participants are under the influence of alcohol, they shouldn’t be allowed to complete the ropes course.
When in doubt, ask questions. Facilitators who underwent ropes course training are usually assigned by the ropes course construction company. If at any time the participants feel unsure about an obstacle course, no matter how little it is, they should also ask for additional supervision if needed.
Read the ropes course builders’ waiver before signing it. This last tip is very important especially for minors and kids under 18 who require a guardian. Go over the liabilities of the theme park just to be sure.
These tips might seem quite simple, but there’s no harm in following them and being responsible just before going on a ropes course with your friends and family.
